‘If this isn’t treason, what is?’: Elon Musk’s new X feature reveals most huge MAGA accounts based in third world profiting from ‘dumb’ Americans

If you’re an enterprising person in the third world looking for an inexhaustible resource to mine and profit from, MAGA‘s bottomless stupidity, gullibility, and racism is by far your best bet. For years, there have been strong suspicions that X accounts with handles like @MAGA_Mom or @TexasMAGAWarrior weren’t who they said they’d be, but now we have confirmation.

Over the weekend, X rolled out a new feature that shows where an account is registered and active from. And, just as predicted, hundreds if not thousands of MAGA-focused accounts with huge influence over the political arena are in fact based in countries like India, Bangladesh, and Nigeria.

It's wild that so many prominent MAGA accounts, with tens of thousands of followers, that call themselves "America First" actually are based in India and elsewhere.

This shouldn’t be surprising. Elon Musk‘s bright idea to pay users for popular viral posts created an obvious market for posting as many controversial things as possible to ensure high engagement, with MAGA Americans’ poor education and illiteracy making them especially vulnerable to believing sensationalist racism and swallowing outright lies about crime figures, immigration, and AI slop.

We can’t blame third-worlders for exploiting this easy revenue stream, but we can blame Elon Musk. As laid out by @RightWingCope:

It’s worth underlining that Musk himself is profiting off these fake accounts and their massive levels of engagement from idiot rubes. That said, there’s a double-edged sword here. Sure, Musk might have created a racist hate machine that’s unravelling the fabric of American society, but his posts indicate his brain has been steamrollered into smoothness by that very same machine.

We would ordinarily sound a note of caution here to double-check who you believe online. But, frankly, what’s the point? MAGA is too dumb to follow even the simplest advice, so expect them to continue to be fooled by Indian men cosplaying as midwestern moms for the foreseeable future.
