It’s been over a month since the government dropped the bombshell regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case and Donald Trump is still dealing with daily questions on the subject. While it looked as though we were going to get something out of Ghislaine Maxwell, the president has since gone back to stonewalling his own supporters, in fact he’s taken it a step further as he threatens to disown anyone from MAGA still asking about his former friend.
Speaking in his gold-adorned Oval Office, the president engaged in a little bit of emotional manipulation as he told one reporter that he had “lost faith in certain people” after frequent questions about Jeffrey Epstein, someone who, at one point, Trump seemed very close to.
I’m sure the feeling is mutual, I would say I’ve lost faith in Donald Trump too, but that would imply I even had faith in him to begin with. So like a petulant child Trump is trying to manipulate his supporters with the threat of *checks notes* not liking them anymore. Apparently questioning the president’s motivations and leadership makes you an America-hating traitor because nobody ever questioned Joe Biden’s leadership right? (Except they did).
Can Trump weasel his way out of this one?
Historically Donald has been able to lie his way out of practically any situation but it looks like his 9 million lives might be up as this Epstein business is ironically refusing to die. Like a vengeful spirit the disgraced New York financier haunts the president and could very well be his undoing. Perhaps Trump knows this and it’s why he’s so eager to sweep it under the rug as quickly as possible. Of course, the more he tries to hide it, the more people want to know.
On X, the president has come under fire from both sides of the political spectrum for his administration’s failure to deliver on the mythical Epstein list (which may or may not exist). One individual pointed out that Trump turns on anyone who isn’t completely loyal to him, adding, “That’s [what] a dictator does.” Meanwhile the group “Republicans Against Trump” wrote, “Calling it a Democrat “hoax” won’t help you, Donald. Everyone wants the Epstein files released.”
No matter what the Trump administration does it seems they have so far been unable to sway public opinion. Prominent figures such as Charlamagne tha God have criticized how the public outcry has been handled, meanwhile the government has begged alt-right figures such as Joe Rogan to help win back the MAGA base.
All this to say it’s clearly not going well for Trump and him publicly disowning his own former supporters only shows him for the petulant child he truly is.
