Would you die for Donald Trump? How about sending your kids to die for him?
It’s becoming apparent that Trump’s “no new wars” promise was missing a crucial comma and should have read “No, new wars!” Whatever the case, blood-crazed madman Pete Hegseth is now gleefully incinerating cities in the Middle East, apparently with the ambition of ushering in Judgment Day.
Future generations may conclude that the American people voting to hand over control of the world’s largest nuclear arsenal to a group of moronic, corrupt, psychopaths may have been a bit of an oopsie. Assuming there are future generations.
Preparation for the draft begins
Anyhow, Blood God Trump demands sacrifice and, as per Karoline Leavitt, that means YOU. While speaking with Maria Bartiromo yesterday, Leavitt grinned as she confirmed that mandatory military conscription isn’t being ruled out. Bartiromo asked:
“Mothers out there are worried that we’re going to have a draft, that they’re going to see their sons and daughters get involved in this. What do you want to say about the president’s plans for troops on the ground?”
BARTIROMO: Trump had an interesting exchange about troops on the ground. Moms are worried we're gonna have a draft and see their kids get involved in this. What do you want to say about the president's plan for troops on the ground?

LEAVITT: President Trump wisely does not… pic.twitter.com/zvF8YeWzTn
“President Trump wisely does not remove options off of the table—I know a lot of politicians like to do that quickly. But the president, as commander-in-chief, wants to continue to assess the success of the military operation. … It’s not part of the current plan right now, but the president, again, wisely keeps his options on the table.”
Don’t expect this reluctance to drag regular Americans out of their homes to die in some nightmarish hellhole to last. After all, the Trump administration’s lust for violence isn’t simply going to disappear once Iran is dust. Senior figures are already talking up an attack on Cuba, and after that? North Korea? Russia? China?
All too soon, Trump may require hundreds of thousands of human bodies to throw in front of machine guns. Leavitt knows that all too well and so cannot rule out a draft.
If there’s a silver lining, it’s that Americans have a proud history of burning draft cards when summoned to die in a pointless war. If Trump actually tried this, we suspect there’d be a mass uprising against him that’d make the Vietnam War protests look like a kid’s birthday party.
