Lindsey Graham slammed after treating US troops as ‘expendable cattle’, GOP Rep. says he has ‘lack of respect’

Lindsey Graham is famously one of the most disliked people in DC. Democrats understandably despise him, but a 2024 report revealed that even his Republican colleagues are “fed up” with his “U-turns” on issues like foreign aid, calling his behavior “annoying” and “tiresome.”

Now he’s roundly infuriated everyone again by casually saying Trump should send thousands of US troops to their death. He blithely said Trump must invade Iran’s Kharg Island with an Iwo Jima-style aquatic assault, a battle that killed 28,000 Americans and seriously injured countless more.

Graham said he wanted to tell Trump:

“Keep it up for a few more weeks. Take Kharg Island, where all of the resources they have to produce oil are.”

Ah, “Take Kharg Island”. So simple! He was pressed that this would mean feeding troops into a meat grinder. Graham shrugged:

“I’m sorta tired of all this armchair quarterbacking. … God bless the fallen. I trust the Marines. I trust DoD. We got two Marine expeditionary units sailing to this island. We did Iwo Jima, we can do this.”

Graham will, of course, be personally leading the charge up the beach and towards the machine gun nests… oh no wait, he’ll actually be sitting in his plush office thousands of miles away watching updates on TV. Presumably, he’s simply tired of other people “armchair quarterbacking”, as I guess it’s fine when he’s doing it.

“This is unacceptable and dark”

Colleagues are astonished at how cavalier he is with American lives. GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said:

Another GOP colleague, Nancy Mace, was blunt in her assessment:

Lindsey Graham needs to be removed from the Situation Room.

There’s a chess proverb that says, “It’s very easy to sacrifice someone else’s pawns”. Perhaps Graham should remember this when he’s so casually sending American troops on a one-way trip to Arlington Cemetery.
