Maryland woman to be deported by ICE despite her attorney providing her US birth certificate

This is Kilmar Abrego Garcia all over again.

ICE has made yet another catastrophic blunder it would seem as an attorney online has accused the agency of abducting a woman who is without a doubt a U.S. citizen. The woman even has documents such as her birth certificate to prove her citizenship and yet ICE doesn’t seem to care.

Immigration attorney Victoria Slatton took to TikTok to share the disturbing story of a 22-year-old woman from Maryland by the name of Dulce Consuelo Diaz Morales, who she claims is “a U.S. citizen in ICE custody.” Slatton hopes her post to TikTok will help draw attention to the case similar to what happened earlier this year with another Maryland resident, Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

The attorney explains that the woman was taken earlier this week and that her and her team “have been desperately trying to get her out.” They filed something known as habeas corpus which is meant to be a safeguard against unlawful imprisonment. Despite this Diaz Morales was moved to Louisiana. “That is not a good sign,” Slatton explains, “that is usually a last stop before deportation.”

The woman’s attorneys even showed ICE her birth certificate which proves she was born in Maryland and is thus a citizen however, the agency refutes this, instead claiming that the birth certificate is fake.

There’s more evidence to prove Dulce Consuelo Diaz Morales is a citizen

ICE hasn’t exactly proven itself to be an agency whose word can be trusted, especially when it is known for abducting first and asking questions never. It’s an inhumane agency that has been given the freedom to kidnap people without repercussion. ICE also hasn’t given convincing proof that the certificate is fake so forgive us if we’re a little skeptical over their claim.

Slatton on the other hand has plenty of other records that should prove Diaz Morales is indeed an American citizen including immunization records, multiple affidavits from people who were there at her birth, and Slatton even personally called the hospital and they confirmed that they do have records.

Despite all of this, things are looking dire for Dulce Consuelo Diaz Morales. Slatton hasn’t been allowed access to her client (which is illegal), and ICE are ignoring the court ruling that ruled in favor of habeas corpus. If the agency doesn’t answer to the law then who exactly does it answer to? If they can make genuine U.S. citizens disappear without anyone putting up a fight then where do we draw the line?

ICE have a habit of kidnapping innocent people, this wasn’t the first time and it likely won’t be the last, if the government are able to make this woman disappear then they can make anyone disappear. We can only hope for Diaz Morales’ sake that Slatton’s video gets enough eyes on it to make it impossible for the Trump administration to deport her.
