Megyn Kelly begins Jeffrey Epstein whitewash, wonders if him only liking ‘very young teens’ means he’s ‘not a pedophile’

Seriously? THIS is the defense you're going with?!

The walls are closing in on Donald Trump. For months, he, his staff, and his supporters have been frantically trying to dismiss the ever-growing stack of evidence that Trump was up to his eyeballs in the modern era’s most notorious pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein‘s business.

Yesterday, yet another bombshell landed in the form of the release of many of Epstein’s emails, underlining once again their closeness and directly implicating Trump as being involved with an unknown Epstein victim. It seems like there’s much more damaging material coming soon.

The denials and lies are rapidly becoming less convincing. And so, it seems MAGA is finally resorting to the one defense they hoped they’d never have to use: “maybe Jeffrey Epstein wasn’t so bad…?”

Fully rehabilitating Epstein’s image is impossible, but yesterday’s comments from Megyn Kelly on The Megyn Kelly Show seem to indicate they’re willing to try. Kelly argued that technically, Epstein might not be a pedophile because he only “liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were”. Oh. Okay. Uh… Wait, what?

Kelly then tried desperately to thread this needle:

“We have yet to see anybody come forward and say I was under 10, I was under 14 when I first came within his purview. You can say that’s a distinction without a difference. I think there is a difference. There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old, you know?”

“Well.. technically…”

For one thing, Epstein’s youngest known victim was 14 years old, but whatever. So, what point is Kelly trying to make here? Should we be breathing a sigh of relief that Epstein could have been worse and thank our lucky stars he only abused and trafficked “very young teen types”?

Ultimately, this feels like this is an argument getting a test run, ready to be deployed if the Epstein files contain incontrovertible evidence that Trump was directly involved in Epstein’s sexual crimes. After all, Trump himself once admitted that “terrific guy” Epstein liked girls “on the younger side”, so buckle up for that to be taken to its logical conclusion.

Come the end of the year, we may plausibly get the nauseating sight of Karoline Leavitt dismissively admitting that, sure, Trump may have abused a couple of “very young teen types”, but that’s not really pedophilia! I mean, at least they weren’t under 10 years old! It could be worse!
