MTG rips into Trump’s ‘headspinning’ decision to strike Iran: ‘Another foreign war for foreign people’

She sees the attacks on Iran as the clearest sign that Trump is putting “America last.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former Congresswoman, recently unleashed a torrent of criticism on X, calling President Trump’s decision to strike Iran. According to Newsweek, she called it “head-spinning” and a “betrayal” of his signature “America First” promises.

Trump had warned Iranians to find shelter on Saturday, stating in a video message that “Bombs will be dropping everywhere,” as the United States and Israel launched coordinated airstrikes against targets in Iran. Iran’s Supreme National Security Council then confirmed that its armed forces had already started a “decisive response to these hostile acts,” with the foreign ministry adding that it would “not hesitate” in its retaliation.

“We thought the victory won in 2024 would be finally time to put America First,” Greene wrote, expressing a deep sense of disappointment. She stressed that “America First” should mean prioritizing “the common American man and woman and their children,” not just “the elites.” She even went accused the administration of being involved in a cycle where they “create the crisis and the solution simultaneously and then build condos to profit.”

His actions really do seem like a far cry from his campaign promises

Greene stated that it “always feels like a lie and always America Last.” It is an opinion she has stated before, but his actions with Iran seem to have exacerbated the situation. “It feels like the worst betrayal this time because it comes from the very man and the admin who we all believed was different and said no more,” she passionately expressed.

Greene specifically pointed to the nature of the conflict. She believes “we get a war with Iran on behalf of Israel that will succeed in regime in Iran.” She then characterized it as “another foreign war for foreign people for foreign regime change.” She went on to question what this war would actually accomplish for Americans at home.

“Does it lower our inflation that our government caused?” she asked, referencing the nearly $40 trillion in debt and the reduced value of the dollar. Similarly, she argued that “war with Iran fix our healthcare system and make health insurance affordable for Americans?? No war with Iran does not do that and the MAGA admin and Republicans aren’t even working on it in any serious way at all.”

Greene also touched on the human cost, stating, “Does war with Iran do anything to help American families stay together and survive? No, not at all.” She highlighted reports of approximately 40 innocent girls, school children, in Iran being killed by bombs from Israel within hours of the war starting. She stated that both Israel and “our Pro-Peace administration” don’t care that “they killed thousands of innocent children in Gaza.”

Green concluded by suggesting that America would now be “force fed and gas lighted all the ‘noble’ reasons the American ‘Peace’ President and Pro-Peace administration had to go to war once again this year, after being in power for only a year.”
