‘My best pal!’: Red faces in London as Brit ambassador to U.S. sings Jeffrey Epstein’s praises in birthday book

"I'm sure he will have more to say..."

Boy oh boy, that Jeffrey Epstein sure did get about. Whether it’s schmoozing with British royalty, flying ex-U.S. Presidents around on his private jet, or hanging out at Mar-a-Lago with Donald Trump, the man sure was busy — it’s a miracle he found the time to sexually abuse all those underage girls!

The release of his 50th birthday book has caused ripples across Washington. The Wall Street Journal‘s July report of Donald Trump’s birthday message has now been all but confirmed (it’s worse than their description!), Bill Clinton’s note about “childlike curiosity” is disgusting, and some of the contents were sicker than anyone dared imagine.

But those ripples have extended right across the Atlantic to London, where officials are facing serious questions over their appointment of Peter Mandelson as British Ambassador to the United States, who contributed a fawning multi-page tribute to his “best pal” Epstein in the book:

“Once upon a time, an intelligent, sharp-witted man they call ‘mysterious’ parachuted into my life … you would spend many hours just waiting for him to turn up … And often, no sooner were you used to having him around, you would suddenly be alone again … Leaving you with some ‘interesting’ friends to entertain instead … Or just some dogs to keep you company (he wasn’t always so keen on them) … But then he would parachute back in … Very occasionally, taking you by surprise in some far off places … Or in one of his glorious homes he likes to share with his friends (yum yum) … But wherever he is in the world, he remains my best pal!”

Words accompanied by multiple pictures of the two besties hanging out and enjoying life together. It’d be touching, or it would be if one of them wasn’t the modern era’s most notorious pedophile.

Awkward scenes in London

Mandelson himself is yet to comment on his glowing praise for Epstein, but he was asked about his friendship in February. His extremely ambassadorial response: “F**k off!” Now the U.K. government is on the back foot, with Health Secretary Wes Streeting awkwardly insisting that “the ambassador has been clear that he regrets ever having been introduced to Epstein.”

But it’s clear that even they want some answers, with Streeting saying:

“I’m sure he will have more to say. But I don’t think we should tar everyone as kind of guilty by association.”

I mean yeah, but it’s a pretty awful association! And, judging by the message, the two men were clearly very close (apparently, Epstein gave Mandelson some dogs he didn’t want?).

Then again, perhaps someone with close links to Epstein is exactly who you want working with the Trump administration. In fact, Mandelson was said to have been first introduced to Epstein in 2002 at “an intimate dinner party” in his Manhattan townhouse, with Donald Trump himself sitting at the table next to them!

So, if Mandelson needs to head to the White House to deal with some diplomatic incident, at least he and Trump can bond over their mutual friendship with the modern era’s most notorious pedophile.
