Lately, it feels like we’re living in some insane dystopian alternate reality. And not one of the classy, well-written ones either, a real bottom-shelf bargain basement dystopia. Enter President Donald J. Trump, now brandishing a bizarre new superweapon he calls “the Discombobulator”.
So, what is a Discombobulator and who does it discombobulate? Well, Trump has revealed that it was deployed during the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro earlier this month. During an interview with The New York Post, Trump was cagey about the details, but confirmed its existence:
Trump said, “The Discombobulator. I’m not allowed to talk about it” but said it “made [enemy] equipment not work”. More specifically, this apparently prevents rocket launches:
“They never got their rockets off. They had Russian and Chinese rockets, and they never got one off. We came in, they pressed buttons and nothing worked. They were all set for us.”

The Discombobulator is also likely the powerful “mystery weapon” that made unsuspecting Venezuelan soldiers collapse in agony while vomiting blood. As a witness account reposted by the White House explained on Jan 10:
“On the day of the operation, we didn’t hear anything coming. We were on guard, but suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation. The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions. We didn’t know how to react.”
Following this, helicopters landed, and around twenty soldiers disembarked: “those men were technologically very advanced. They didn’t look like anything we’ve fought against before.” He continued:
“At one point, they launched something—I don’t know how to describe it… it was like a very intense sound wave. Suddenly I felt like my head was exploding from the inside. We all started bleeding from the nose. Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move.
…
Those twenty men, without a single casualty, killed hundreds of us. We had no way to compete with their technology, with their weapons. I swear, I’ve never seen anything like it. We couldn’t even stand up after that sonic weapon or whatever it was.”
We already knew the US Military has what’s dubbed “directed energy weapons” designed to neutralize targets using microwaves, lasers, or sonic pulses. However, these have been generally positioned as anti-equipment devices used to disable radar, drones, and other sensitive electronics.
If this is what the Discombobulator really is, it represents a horrifying new dimension in warfare. We can only theorize what the long-term physical consequences might be for the Venezuelan security guards who survived being hit by is was, but let’s face it, bleeding profusely from the nose and vomiting blood isn’t going to be good for you.
How long before we see the Discombobulator deployed on the streets of American cities to disperse anyone protesting against the Trump regime? What happens if this nightmare weapon hits a pregnant woman? Or the elderly? Or kids?
