‘Nepotistic, mediocre and just dumb’: AOC slams subpar Trump fascist takeover, expected evil geniuses, got clown show

There’s a lot to be depressed about in America right now. After all, we have a president who’s openly discussing waging war against ‘enemy’ Democrat cities, teasing a ban on opposing political parties, and with a gang of unaccountable masked goons in unmarked cars snatching people off the streets.

But what rubs salt into the wound is that this evil isn’t even smart and sexy. Take the Empire in Star Wars. Sure, they’re architects of genocidal, planet-killing villainy, but their uniforms are on point, their ships look cool as hell, and they’re smart enough to build a damn Death Star. These are worthy opponents and so all the more satisfying to grind into dust.

But compare your average Imperial Stormtrooper with the slovenly, pot-bellied, Cheeto dust-stained lugs of ICE. I mean, if we have to be oppressed, can those doing it at least take some damn pride in their appearance?

This is pretty much echoed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has miserably explained that this fascist takeover is distinctly bargain basement:

Well, what exactly should we have expected from a former reality TV host putting together an administration formed of former Fox News hosts and mediocre podcasters?

Sadly, the joke is very much on anyone opposing Trump and his goon squad. After all, it’s one thing to have your country taken over by a sinister Palpatine-style mastermind as the culmination of a decades-long manipulation scheme – it’s quite another to have it pinched by a bumbling idiot who can barely form half a thought without digressing into an insane word salad about sharks or golf.

And the fact that nobody in the Democrats can put up any real resistance to this other than meaningless gestures and empty words. Who are the real morons here: the evil idiots or the people the evil idiots somehow triumph over?
