‘No one wants to die for Israel!’: MAGA Senator snaps Marine veteran’s arm after Senate committee outburst

"I decided to help out and deescalate the situation."

Yesterday’s meeting of the Senate Armed Services Committee descended into chaos after Marine Corps veteran Brian McGinnis entered the chamber in full uniform and made clear his objections to American soldiers dying to protect Israel’s interests.

He yelled, “Stand up for America” and “No one wants to die for Israel!”, as Capitol Police began to eject him from the venue. The veteran then clung to a door, with Senator Tim Sheehy getting to his feet to assist them.

In excruciating footage, as Sheehy shoves the Marine, his arm visibly snaps.

CBS later identified the Marine as Brian McGinnis, a Green Party candidate running for Senate in North Carolina. His campaign website describes him as a “veteran, firefighter, father” who served for four years in the Marine Corps:

“The Democrats and Republicans may market to working class people but when push comes to shove they will both fail working class people time and time again. Because of all of these things I chose to do something by becoming a Green and running for US Senate.”

Whether this incident impresses the voters of North Carolina remains to be seen.

“This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one”

Sheehy later weighed in on the incident, describing McGinnis as “unhinged” and arguing that by snapping his arm like a twig, he was helping to “de-escalate the situation”. Which, given that few people can put up much protest after their humerus has been shattered, is technically true.

“Capitol Police were attempting to remove an unhinged protestor from the Armed Services hearing. He was fighting back. I decided to help out and deescalate the situation. This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one. I hope he gets the help he needs without causing further violence.”

Capitol Police later released a statement saying McGinnis faces charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and blocking an entrance, saying he put “everyone in a dangerous position by violently resisting and fighting our officers’ attempts to remove him.”

Green Party official and McGinnis’ campaign manager Mark Elbourno hit back, saying nobody had been assaulted and that he “just wanted to be heard speaking loud and clear.” McGinnis’ medical condition remains unknown.
