Pam Bondi humiliation intensifies as report emerges she begged to keep job, Trump switched chairs to avoid her

Sweet, sweet schadenfreude...

It’s neither big nor clever to mock someone when they’re so visibly at rock bottom. Fortunately, I’m neither, so I’ve been cackling all day at Pam Bondi‘s abject humiliation at the hands of Donald Trump, the idiot she sacrificed her reputation to protect.

G’bye Pam! Don’t let the Attorney General’s office door whack you on the way out! As always, MAGA does its best to paint this as no big deal, like when they said Kristi Noem being shunted off to some made-up job was actually, uh, a promotion. Bondi doesn’t even have that, as Trump has booted her out of government altogether.

Now the schadenfreude has just gotten even sweeter. As per a report in The Wall Street Journal titled ‘I Think it’s time’: The Inside Story of Pam Bondi’s Ouster‘, a source says Trump broke the news while riding inside the presidential limousine, telling her, “I think it’s time”.

Bondi apparently didn’t get the hint, sitting next to Trump at the Supreme Court hearing on birthright citizenship. Trump, doubtless wondering why the person he just fired was still hanging around, switched chairs to avoid her. As per the article, Bondi then pleaded with Trump, asking if she could just keep her job until the summer. Trump said no. Take the hint, Pam!

See you on the unemployment lines!

Trump had apparently been deeply frustrated with Bondi for months, having considered her to have screwed up the release of the Epstein failures and her failure to prosecute Trump’s enemies as ordered. Trump observers had noted he’s had a dim view of her talents for some time, remarking at a sporting event in January that she’s doing a “terrible job”.

He was apparently keenly sensitive that Bondi was being criticized even by conservative media. There’s an eyebrow-raising detail that Trump printed out social media posts criticizing her and was happily showing them to White House visitors. Perhaps we should be surprised he tolerated her presence for so long?

Bondi is doing her best to put on a brave face. Her comment on her current dire situation is simply, “It’s ALL so positive”. Could have fooled us, Pam. It looks more like you’ve achieved the notable feat of being too incompetent for the Trump administration. On top of that, Bondi is due to face a grilling before Congress on April 14 about her handling of the Epstein files. So that’ll be a fun watch.

Another fun detail comes as to her future prospects. The article says: “One possibility is she will join a firm and work on artificial intelligence.” Well, I guess she’s not going to be bringing the “intelligence”, but I suppose she’s got “artificial” covered.

As always, any glee we get from Trump sacking one of his clowns is tempered by the fact that there’s almost certainly someone worse coming down the pipeline to replace them. Trump is doubtless hoping for someone who’ll fight with their gloves off, likely putting the administration on yet another collision course with the judiciary.

In the meantime, relish the sight of the miserable Bondi falling into the trash can of history, with the downbeat Kristi Noem waiting for her. So, who’s next? If I had to pick, I’d boot out RFK Jr, but more realistically, I suspect Pete Hegseth isn’t long for his job given the disastrous situation in Iran.
