‘To say no to President Trump would be saying no to God’: MAGA worship evolves into terrifying final form

It's a holy quartet now: The father, the son, the holy spirit, and Donald J. Trump.

People are justifiably worried that Donald Trump is acting more like a king than a president. But maybe everyone has been thinking too small – what if Trump wasn’t becoming ‘merely’ a king, but… a GOD.

In what has to be the final form of MAGA’s religious fervor for Trump, his personal pastor and spiritual advisor, Paula White, says that to her, Trump and God are interchangeable, and so betraying one is betraying the other.

This and many other completely insane comments from White were summarized in this video. Beware, watching it feels like peering into the abyss:

White calmly explains that:

“To say no to President Trump would be saying no to God. And I won’t do that.”

Please note that White didn’t say that denying Trump would be “like” denying God, she directly linked the two as equivalent deities. Needless to say, this is powerfully not good. No human being should ever be considered a god – but especially not Donald Trump!

Blasphemy!

It should also go without saying that putting Trump on a par with God is straight-up idolatry and contradicts everything from the Trinity to Jesus’ sacrifice. It’s also kind of a big sign of the Anti-Christ, though this would be far from the first time Trump neatly aligned with everything Revelation tells Christians to watch out for.

Elsewhere in the video, White rails against the “demonic networks” trying to bring down Trump, declares that the White House is “holy ground”, and says that her personal thoughts come directly from God as she’s “downloading heaven”.

Responses are quick to label this as “psychosis”:

Christians are also clear that White is explicitly committing blasphemy:

Perhaps the only silver lining is that White is almost certainly a calculated grifter who doesn’t really believe any of this stuff. Being the most extreme MAGA Christian on the market must be lucrative, and to keep that top position, you have to keep saying more and more outlandish things.

But, assuming White even believes in God at all, she’ll be in for a surprise when she one day approaches the pearly gates and St Peter merely laughs, rolls his eyes, and pulls the big lever that sends you down, down. down.
