Donald Trump is under a lot of pressure and it’s clearly getting to him. Awareness must be beginning to dawn in the Oval Office that he’s put himself into an unwinnable position in Iran: either commit to boots on the ground and risk plunging the US into yet another quagmire, or scurry away with his tail between his legs.
Behind all this is the specter of a collapsing world economy with nobody but Trump to blame. Oil prices are skyrocketing, the already fragile economy is teetering on the edge of disaster, and regular Americans are about to experience some truly miserable times. Needless to say, this is hardly what you want going into the crucial midterm elections.
Time to take Grandpa’s phone away
Judging by his Truth Social posts, Trump is cracking under the pressure. Never the most coherent person at the best of times, his latest spittle-flecked missives are genuinely unhinged, to the point that he’s simply making up words:
Trump, as usual, is trying to make his own bad decisions someone else’s problem, namely the “Crazy, Country Destroying, Radical Left Democrats”. The unfocused ramble covers ICE funding, voter ID, and trans people, with him demanding “No Transgender MUTILIZATION of our precious children”.
I probably don’t need to underline that “mutilization” is not a word. He probably means “mutilation”.
Elsewhere, Trump rounded on Texas Democrat James Talarico and Gavin Newsom for – in a deeply ironic twist – their lack of intelligence:
On Newsom, he said:
Gavin Newscum who admitted that he suffers from mental incapacity, is unable to read a speech, and is dumb but, in saying “the dumb comment,” referred to his audience, and therefore became, in the eyes of African Americans, A TOTAL RACIST — which is probably true!
It’s getting hard to recall now, but once upon a time, Trump was actually quite good at roasting his enemies. Think what you like about his terrible decisions but Trump used to have an uncanny ability to zero in on his opponents’ flaws, concoct a catchy nickname (Sleepy Biden, Crooked Hillary, etc.), and then mercilessly hammer them.
It’s almost sad to see him devolve to the level he’s currently at, where he’s barely making sense at all. But, if this is anything to go by, it sure won’t be long for him now. All that said, maybe for the sake of the greater MAGA project, it might be time to take Grandpa’s phone away from him after the sun goes down. This is not a good look.
