The Donald Trump administration posted a fake video showing Jeffrey Epstein‘s last moments in his cell on Monday afternoon, December 22. They removed it shortly after. The video appeared alongside over 300,000 files that were released last Friday, December 19, after President Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law.
The massive file release included photos of Epstein with many famous people, court papers, and handwritten notes. Some photos showed Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and others, though being in these pictures doesn’t prove anyone did anything wrong.
People were curious if Trump would appear in any photos. He did show up in some images, but those pictures were mysteriously removed from the Department of Justice website along with 16 other photos. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the files were removed to protect victims. According to Unilad, he said it was “laughable” to think they deleted anything because Trump asked them to since there are already dozens of existing photos of Trump and Epstein together.
The administration claims victim protection led to the deletions
He explained that a judge in New York ordered them to listen to victims or victim rights groups if they have concerns about released materials. After this explanation, the DOJ put Trump’s photo back on their website.
The President has faced recent scrutiny over what health experts suspect about him, though he continues his active role in government decisions. But the mysterious video remained missing until yesterday afternoon.
The 12-second video appeared to recreate Epstein’s final hours before he died by suicide. The video had a justice.gov URL with a timestamp showing August 10, 2019, at 4:29 am. Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York at 6:30 am that same day. He had apparently hanged himself using his bedsheets.
The video showed someone who looked like Epstein, but multiple outlets reported it as fake. No camera was actually in the room the night Epstein died, so the footage couldn’t be real. The video also appears animated and doesn’t match how Epstein was actually found that morning.
Officials reported that only one prison security camera had working video from August 9 and 10 in the special housing unit where Epstein stayed. The other cameras had malfunctioned. Meanwhile, Trump recently announced plans to personally design new naval vessels, showing his continued hands-on approach to government projects.
