Trump has ‘no idea’ why doctors gave him an MRI, doesn’t know what part of his body was targeted, says the scan was ‘perfect’ anyway

What were they looking for and what did they find?

Something is up with Donald Trump‘s health. This shouldn’t be a surprise: he’s almost eighty, hates exercise, and subsists on a diet of cheeseburgers. Frankly, it’d be a miracle if he wasn’t suffering multiple health problems.

Trump’s health and fitness are a touchy subject for him. A recent article in The New York Times outlining concerns about his health, age, and fitness for the job was met with fury, claiming he’d recently had a “PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST.”

But during that debacle, he let slip (possibly inadvertently) that doctors had ordered him to undergo an MRI at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in October. An MRI isn’t something doctors casually order as a matter of routine during a physical, it’s generally used when they have specific concerns about a part of a patient’s body they can’t inspect through non-invasive means.

Now, Trump is under pressure to explain what this is all about, and last night told the press in very vague terms that he’s happy for his “perfect” MRI to be released:

“They can release it. It was perfect like my phone call where I got impeached.”

Whether this happens or not, Trump was suspiciously cagey when it came to exactly what part of his body was being examined: “I have no idea. It’s just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and I aced it.”

Why give him an MRI?

It would be unusual for doctors to order an MRI – especially of the president – and not explain to him why they were performing this, what they were looking for and, after analysis was complete, what they found. But, if the results are indeed being released, I guess we’ll know soon enough.

Let’s face it, we’re all familiar with this dance by now. Each month brings fresh rumors that Trump is at death’s door – or even that he’s secretly died and the truth is being kept from us – and a few days later, he’s back in front of the cameras looking fine.

But it’s an inescapable fact that Trump is almost an octogenarian, he is suffering documented health problems, and those close to him have noted a “decline”. For the answers we’re just going to have to wait and see, though I wouldn’t be surprised if – like Ronald Reagan and Joe Biden before him – we won’t know the truth about the president’s health until he’s out of office.
