Donald Trump used a Truth Social post on Wednesday afternoon to criticize Fox News over which political guests appear on the network. He named Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and Fox News contributor Jessica Tarlov, along with “every Democrat.”
Trump said those guests speak poorly about the Republican Party and about him. He asked, “Why does FoxNews always put Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Jessica Tarlov, and every Democrat on, saying bad things about the Republican Party and, of course, me?”
He then wrote, “This is why MAGA, and REAL Patriots, will never like Fox!” Trump said Democratic voices appear to get more time than people he called “Pro Republicans.” He described the coverage as a repeated negative account of Republicans and of him, followed by only a brief reply.
Trump compared airtime for Democrats and Republicans on Fox News
“I actually think they get more airtime than Pro Republicans,” he wrote. He added, “They repeat a completely negative narrative, on and on it goes, and then we get a quick retort.” He closed that portion of the post by writing, “It’s truly amazing that I won all three Elections.”
Trump has often criticized news organizations, but he has also praised Fox News in the past and has hired former Fox News personalities for his administration. Trump’s relationship with Fox News has been complicated, such as when the network backed three outlets he had banned, prompting Peter Navarro to urge cabinet members to boycott it.
The Hill also pointed to a separate Truth Social post from last month aimed at Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream. Trump said her guests, charts, and polls did not show what he described as successful actions by his administration.
“In any event, Shannon’s ‘show’ is beyond redemption,” he wrote at the time. “Fortunately, MAGA, which is close to 100% of the Republican Party, understands that, and watch her ‘Ratings’ start to fall.”
He compared Bream with her predecessor, writing, “Chris Wallace was bad, but Shannon is even worse.”
Fox News is one of the major television networks that take turns covering the president so other outlets can use the footage, The Hill reported. The network’s decision to stop covering the president has drawn scrutiny, as the Fox News chief signals the end of Trump coverage while rival networks face extreme consequences.
