Tucker Carlson shows how childish he is by using offensive slur in attempt to prove to Piers Morgan the UK doesn’t have free speech

This isn't the win Carlson probably thinks it is.

Tucker Carlson isn’t exactly the most politically correct person out there but hearing him repeat a homosexual slur during an interview with Piers Morgan is pretty low even for him.

The former Fox News host engaged in a debate with the controversial British journalist and in this situation we have to side with Piers on this one. The pair discussed the state of free speech in the U.K. and during a particularly surprising moment Carlson dropped the F-slur. “Would you say the word ‘f****t’ on camera?” he asked Morgan.

The moment came after Carlson brought up a case in the U.K. in which a woman was charged with malicious communications offences after she referred to a person who assaulted her as a “f****t” over text to a former friend as per the Daily Mail. Carlson used this case to prove his point that the U.K. doesn’t have free speech.

While Morgan admitted he wasn’t familiar with the case he refuted Carlson’s assertion that the U.K. doesn’t allow free speech. Carlson then asked him if he would say the slur to which Morgan refused before asking Carlson if he would. The American political commentator responded, “I just did,” before repeatedly saying the slur several times with a smile on his face.

This doesn’t prove Tucker Carlson’s point

While he may act like this was a gotcha moment, Piers doesn’t stoop to his level, refusing to say it, “You don’t wanna get arrested, do ya?” Carlson taunts, but Morgan maintains “I’m allowed to, I just choose not to.”

It’s important to distinguish between free speech and responsible speech. You don’t need to blurt out every slur under the sun just because you can. Many on X expressed disappointment in Carlson’s approach to the topic, “This is the level of discourse we have reached?!” Asked one exasperated viewer.

Of course, some did agree with Carlson, “In America we can say whatever we want even if it offends someone.” One person claimed, “In Britain the same word gets you questioned by police and possibly arrested.”

“Free speech debates are always intense. Is proving free speech more important than avoiding hate speech?” asked another. In the end, Piers refusing to say the word doesn’t prove that he can’t say it, all it proves is that he doesn’t want to say a word that may cause offense, which is a pretty normal response. Meanwhile Tucker Carlson is happy to shout it from the rooftops it seems.

But then again, Morgan has used this exact tactic in the past when he dared a trad-wife to say the N-word so maybe we shouldn’t be singing his praises too much.
