‘Weird and concerning’: Trump’s most rabid supporters process Marjorie Taylor Greene drama… and they’re siding with her over him

Did Trump assume their loyalty was unshakable?

Donald Trump has spent most of his life throwing friends, colleagues, and supporters under the bus. I mean, he even buried one of his wives under a golf course and let her grave become overgrown.

For Trump, even a glimmer of perceived opposition is enough to consign them to his most-hated list, no matter how loyal they’ve been to him in the past. Such is the case of Marjorie Taylor Greene. For years, she’s been one of Trump’s most dogged cheerleaders, supporting him through thick and thin even when the world was against him.

She was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him throughout the 2024 campaign when he vowed to release the Epstein files and expose the crooked, wealthy men who used his services. There was only one teeny problem: Donald Trump is a crooked, wealthy man who used his services.

Apparently fearful of damaging information being exposed, Trump has flip-flopped on their release like a beached trout. Greene has stuck to her guns, despite this causing her to break with Trump. As a result, to him, she’s now Marjorie “Traitor” Greene – as far as he’s concerned, she’s practically a Democrat.

Trump probably expected his most passionate supporters to turn on a dime with him and begin tarring and feathering Greene. Judging by the death threats she says she’s received, a few of them have.

Taking MAGA’s pulse

But, to take the pulse of the real hardcore Trumpites, you have to don your online hazmat suit and head to the murky waters of Patriots.win – the sanctuary for the miserable refugees of banned subreddit r/TheDonald.

They’re devoted to Trump to the point of lunacy, but it seems even they baulk at demolishing Greene. Most of the posts slamming her are quickly criticized, with many pointing out that she’s remained a stalwart MAGA crusader and questioning Trump’s alignment with the likes of Lindsay Graham.

“She’s right. The toxic political environment has gotten out of hand. It landed Charlie in the morgue and almost Trump too. There is nothing wrong with what she said.”

“I’m all for nicknames because he’s gifted at bestowing them, but traitor is a strong word.”

“If Trump supports the release of the Epstein files, what is the point of attacking MTG?”

“Trumps going hard on her despite all her support for him during the jan 6 hoax when the Republicans stabbed him in the back. Now hes buddy buddy with traitor Lindsey Graham. Very weird and concerning.”

Greene may have seen the writing on the wall for Trump and MAGA. Trump is damaged by the Epstein revelations, and the disclosure of the Epstein files may make those wounds mortal. If Trump goes down, MAGA will need a new leader. And who better than Greene, who can rightly point out that she’s a true-believer who won’t compromise her principles when the chips are down.

She might be down-and-out now in the Republican Party, but we wouldn’t put it past her to be playing the long game.
