6 SwiftTok trends that are uniting Swifties during the Eras Tour

Hop on these trends while you can.

Taylor Swift‘s international tour has been taking over the For You Pages of fans all over the world since it began in March. From live streams of the concert to outfit transitions, Taylor Swift fans (or Swifties) are reigning supreme as TikTok’s trendsetters. Here are the top 6 trends that are keeping people connected on the Swiftie side of TikTok (SwiftTok) as they head to the concert.

Concert Reenactments

As more and more people have been able to attend one of the concerts, segments of her show have gone viral. This has led to many fans wanting to recreate them in their own homes. In particular, at a point in the show, she is singing her song “My Tears Ricochet” and falls to the ground with a flourish during the bridge. Fans have been recreating this moment with bed sheets at home and posting their viral performances.

Post-Concert Videos

Swift has been performing two new songs every night that are not on the setlist. She plays different ones at every show and, for the most part, does not repeat them. This has led some Swifties to make videos after the show, saying, “We can’t go, she hasn’t played [insert song] yet.” Occasionally, this is accompanied by an “Oh, wait, yes she has” as concert-goers boast the surprise songs from their show.

Pre-Concert Bets

As more and more surprise songs are being checked off of the list of possibilities, Swifties are making fabricated bets before this concert to share what surprise songs that they’re hoping for. For example, one fan shared that “If Taylor plays ‘Paper Rings,’ I will propose to my boyfriend.”

Surprise Song Trackers

Since catching on to the surprise song aspect of the tour, many fans began to track what songs she played each night, from which albums, and whether she played them on the piano or guitar. Tracking these songs has come in the form of Excel spreadsheets, posters, blankets, and even a hand-woven dress.

Friendship Bracelets

One of the more wholesome trends that have been present throughout the tour has been friendship bracelets. It’s unclear where exactly it started, but concert-goers have been making dozens, sometimes hundreds, of Taylor Swift-themed friendship bracelets to hand out and trade before the show.

Concert Chants

One trend that has been around for other tours but has grown in recent years is the chants that fans incorporate into Swift’s songs. Some of them stem from TikTok trends or things she does on stage, or even just originate at concerts. People love to share videos of Swift onstage enjoying the chants as she performs.

There will undoubtedly be more viral moments as Swift is behind the South American leg of her tour. Swifties always find a way to create a unique and inclusive environment at every show.
