A McDonald’s employee’s viral ‘secrets’ video about their food has customers rethinking how they order

McDonald's prices have increased by up to 100% in the last decade.

McDonald’s customers are always looking for ways to optimize their time and money at the chain. A McDonald’s worker took to TikTok to finally fill in the blanks on what people think and assume about the company. Across two videos, she shared exactly what customers can do to better navigate ordering from the fast-food restaurant.

The TikTok creator, @noahfoundgrey, first focused on what it was like to work at McDonald’s. She said there were so many things she never knew until she actually started working at the chain. First, she claimed that the infamous ice cream machine is not as faulty as it seems. According to her, most staff members simply do not know how to use it.

She then said employees barely receive enough training. She also claimed that workers do not receive direct deposit until they have at least 90 days of employment. She then shifted her focus to customers, telling them they should know that while their sandwiches are always fresh, at least five are usually prepared ahead of time and stored in warming cabinets.

You might be ordering the wrong fries

After the first video gained a lot of traction, she decided to post a follow-up, this time focusing on tips for customers. She said that when ordering fries, people should always ask for fries without salt. Noah assures viewers that this way they will always receive a fresher batch of fries.

Her other menu hacks include an alternative to the Big Mac that she says is more cost-effective. She recommends ordering a McDouble without ketchup or mustard, then adding Mac Sauce and a serving of shredded lettuce.

Although McDonald’s reportedly prohibits customers from creating multiple accounts to redeem duplicate offers, she says this is another trick that can help people save money. Just know that if you do try it, the company could ban all of your accounts. Her next tip was more straightforward. She said that folded eggs are made from liquid eggs, while round eggs are made from freshly cracked Grade A eggs cooked on the grill.

The videos eventually made their way to X, where some users shared their own tips. One wrote, “Also, if you customize your burger (no ketchup, no mustard, with mayo etc) you will get a hot fresh burger instead of a pre-made one sitting in the warmer.” Others disagreed with the effectiveness of some of her advice. One user wrote, “She’s wrong about the Sausage Egg McMuffin. We put the round egg on those and the folded egg goes on the biscuit sandwiches. I know cause I work at McDonald’s.”

Many other comments came from people on X claiming they would never eat at McDonald’s. However, if that is the case, then the tips should not matter to them in the first place. For many others, though, these suggestions were at least worth trying. People simply want their trips to the chain to be as cost-effective as possible while still getting the freshest food they can.

McDonald’s prices have increased by 100% in the last decade

Especially at a time when just about everyone has noticed the skyrocketing prices on the menu. According to Yahoo Finance, the price of food at McDonald’s has increased by up to 100% over the past decade.

It is only natural that people will look for ways to adapt to that reality.
