Food influencer buys a large slice of Linda’s Fudge Cake. Took a few bites, and then it went wrong: ‘Y’all there’s something in my cake’

The review went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Adrianna, who posts on TikTok as @adrianna_fever, filmed herself in the driver’s seat of a car after picking up a takeout order from The Cheesecake Factory. She opened a yellow and brown bag from the restaurant and pulled out a clear plastic container holding a large slice of chocolate cake. In the caption, she wrote that she had decided to get the viral chocolate cake “just for there to be a worm in it…. GREAT.”

The clip, posted by an account whose profile name lists the creator as Fever, has drawn 1.6 million views, 90,000 likes, and more than 4,960 comments. Looking into the container, she said, “No, why does my- why does my cake look like this? Cheesecake Factory.” She held the container up, then lifted the slice toward the camera. She said “Linda” before taking bites, with chocolate on her face.

She then told viewers, “Y’all there’s something in my cake.” She picked at the slice with long red nails, pulled a small piece away, and held it up. She said, “It’s a worm! Oh my gosh, it’s so small. Y’all see that little white thing?”

Adrianna showed a small white piece she called a worm on the cake lid

She held what she described as a tiny white worm on her fingertip close to the lens. She said, “Y’all, it’s a worm! I finally did it.” The video showed her with long dark braids as she sat in the car and kept filming the container.

She said, “Well, that’s the end of this video. The one time I want to try something, there’s a worm. And my cake.” The camera then moved to a close-up of the clear plastic lid. On the lid, the small white piece she had called a worm appeared to be crawling among chocolate cake crumbs.

The shot returned to the remaining cake in the container. She said, “I really ate some of this, like, oh my gosh, is it throughout?” The clip ended on the cake still sitting in the takeout container. She did not say in the video where she bought the slice beyond naming Cheesecake Factory, and she did not show a receipt. Finding something unexpected in food is never pleasant, as when a Philadelphia woman spotted a worm in her Whole Foods sea bass, skipped dinner, then bought more fish and found another one.

Viewers in the comments did not treat the white piece as a worm. One commenter wrote that what she found looked like maggots and said she had already eaten them. They wrote, “MAGGOTS! You ate MAGGOTS!!! Girl those ain’t no worms!”

Another commenter said they rarely inspect food and may have eaten insects before without noticing. They wrote, “I never check my food I’ve probably eaten so many bugs.” It is not the first time shoppers have found something unexpected in food they bought, such as when a woman buys a jar of chili powder from Aldi and notices something moving inside.

One commenter pointed back to her early reaction and treated the look of the cake as a warning she passed over. They wrote, “You said why does my cake look like this! That was a warning, always go with your first gut. Blessings!”

A separate commenter said her reaction seemed calm compared with how they would have responded. They wrote, “You too calm sis. I’d be throwing up smh.” Another commenter said a hole in the cake had already been a sign something was wrong. They wrote, “The hole in the cake was the warning sign.”
