Goodwill customer calls it the ‘worlds greatest thrift.’ She is stunned when she opens the box: ‘Who got caught cheating?’

A TikTok creator from Nashville, Tennessee, says she found a complete Dyson Airwrap hair-styling set at a Goodwill store, priced at $9.99. The video, posted by a creator going by Madison Paige on the account @madz.weis, shows her reacting with shock inside the store before revealing the item on a shelf.

On-screen text in the video reads, “Worlds greatest thrift find.” The camera then shows an oval-shaped, brown leather-like case sitting on a shelf, with a blue and white Goodwill price tag attached to the top.

Madison Paige opens the case to reveal a full Dyson Airwrap set, including curling barrels and brushes in pink and silver, the main styling tool, and its power cord. The case has “Dyson” embossed on the outside, and the price tag shows a QR code, the Goodwill logo, and a price of $9.99 for the entire set.

Comment section questions how the item was priced so low

She is not the only thrifter to recently spark attention online, as another shopper recently found a necklace with a surprising hidden detail during a routine store visit.

One commenter wrote, “there is no way someone just donated a $400 hair dryer and they marked it on the SHELVES for $10 like okay period (i hope this find me next).” Another user replied to that comment, “That one is actually $800.”

A separate comment reads, “Who got caught cheating?” followed by laughing emojis, referencing a joke that someone may have donated the item after a breakup. Another commenter wrote, “Probably a husband or bf donating after divorce or break up lol,” to which a user named Zoey Lee replied, “And a man that priced it.”

A third comment questioned the pricing logic at thrift stores generally, stating, “So they’ll sell that for 9.99 but a burnt used candle for $20 make that make sense.” Steep markdowns on valuable items are not unheard of at secondhand stores, as shown by a separate case where a fifty-cent purchase turned out to be worth far more than the buyer expected.

Both versions listed on the site carry a 4.7 out of 5 rating based on roughly 22,890 reviews. The Curly+Coily edition is the least expensive, while the Straight+Wavy version carries the highest price.
