‘Harry Potter’ fans divulge their unpopular opinions

'Harry Potter' fans have some strongly held, sometimes unpopular, beliefs when it comes to the story and its characters.

Harry Potter is one of the world’s greatest franchises of all time, and with that title comes a lot of passion from its millions of fans. The series has been read by millions of people worldwide, with both children and adults falling in love with the wizarding world and those within it. But as with anything fictional, opinions are subjective and now fans are sharing their unpopular opinions about the series on Reddit.

Many people have found ways to relate to the characters, whether it’s a young kid who sees himself in Harry or a girl who loves to have her nose in a book and looks up to Hermione. Despite the fantastical world that they live in and the magical conundrums that the characters face, readers have seen their own struggles, or even the struggles around them, represented on the pages of the books or up on the big screen. But as with anything in life, people have different opinions on things, and some of them may go against the opinions held by the majority.

One individual reached out to others on Reddit to ask them to share their unpopular opinions on the forum. One opinion was that Harry wasn’t exactly as golden as many hold him to be and that Snape’s judgment of him as being arrogant wasn’t completely erroneous.

The thread proved to be a popular one with over 400 comments and responses.

Many have held true that Dumbledore should have just been up front with Harry about everything, but this user disagrees.

A fan favourite character was Dobby the House Elf, and many a tear was shed at his death in the final book/penultimate film. But some argue that its is Kreacher who has the more interesting character arc.

Kreacher was definitely not always the best towards Harry, but considering he had been treated like crap by almost everyone his entire life it isn’t hard to see why he acts the way he does, but the moment a semblance of kindness comes his way Kreacher completely changes his tune and fights with Harry and the others.

Some called Molly Weasley’s parenting skills into question.

Pointing out her flaws as a parent, and why living with that might be hard for any child.

This users controversial opinion may leave many stunner, but hey, to each their own.

A few people felt like this character was overrated and if you were to actually meet them in real life, you may not feel the same way you about the book version.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and disagreeing over a work of fiction isn’t the worst disagreement to have really.
