‘HOW did they not see you?’ Guys playing ding-dong ditch are blissfully unaware the victims of their prank are sitting right behind them

"The lights are on but nobody's home."

Ding-dong ditch is a favorite pastime of many-a-child and more than a few adults. While the traditional prank/game is somewhat dying out in the digital age, few are keeping the flame alive. For two mischievous men however, the game didn’t go exactly to plan as a TikTok shows the clueless duo psyching themselves up to ring the bell while the occupants of said residence sit right behind them on the porch.

The pair were caught on a door camera playing the prank, giggling like little kids. Maybe they’re drunk or maybe they’re just high on life. Either way they are completely oblivious as people can clearly be seen sitting on the porch to the right of the two men. While the first man knocks and runs away screaming, the other guy lingers for a while, laughing as he prepares to ring the bell.

When he finally does it he turns and runs as fast as he can, somehow missing the people mere meters away from him who seem to find the whole bizarre event rather amusing. In fact, you can even hear them laughing at the men but they somehow still didn’t realize.

How did they not notice?

Viewers were shocked at how the pair somehow missed the people sitting on the porch, the light was on and everything. “Literally sitting in front and the lights are on HOW did they not see you[?]” asked one person. “The definition of “the lights are on but nobody’s home,”” joked another. Evidently they lack any sort of peripheral vision.

Others admitted that they even struggled to notice the small group on the porch behind the men, “The fact I didn’t notice makes it so much funnier,” confessed one, “I didn’t notice yall was there till i watched it again,” added a second.

While many may find ding-dong ditchers to be a nuisance, it’s all a bit of harmless fun, in most situations at least. The look of pure joy on these guys’ faces is too wholesome to even consider getting mad about. The occupants of the house clearly felt the same way as you can see one of the women grinning in the video.

One viewer on TikTok even thanked them for not yelling at the two men, although to be honest they were probably dumbstruck with how unaware the pair were.

Whatever the case, it seems like everyone involved had a good laugh, even if certain people were blissfully unaware that they were being watched. Do these two know that they’ve given 1.8 million people on TikTok a good chuckle? I hope so.
