‘I hate you all’: Man left devastated after thieves steal pills from his car – but they weren’t just any pills

A man on TikTok shared his devastating reaction to finding out that some thieves had broken into his car and stolen his lupus medication. His video prompted a heartwarming response from the people of TikTok.

Jae, a music artist, actor, and model, from Kansas shared the emotional video after discovering his car had been broken into. In the video he is visibly upset as he addresses the thieves. “Whoever one of you b—-es took my f—ing pills out my f—ing car, I have lupus.” Jae then shows the aftermath of the robbery as he struggles to even get his words out past the tears.

His anger, frustration and sadness are all completely valid considering those pills could have meant the difference between life and death. For those who don’t know, lupus is a chronic condition with no known cure. The disease affects many although most who have heard of it may have learned about it after singer and former Disney star Selena Gomez shared her diagnosis.

According to the Mayo Clinic, it occurs “when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs.” If left untreated it can result in life-threatening complications and severe organ damage.

You may think Jae could simply get more medication but unfortunately healthcare in the U.S. is a joke with care for lupus patients ranging between $12,000 and $39,000 per year depending upon the severity according to lupus.org.

Whether the thieves knew what they were stealing and how much it was worth to someone like Jae is unclear. Either way it’s a heartless thing to do to another human being as Jae was left in a dire situation.

TikTok gives support

Commenters shared their support for Jae, with plenty asking how they could help him out. Others offered sympathies, “I’m so sorry people have NO idea how expensive lupus medication is and how long the doctors appointments take,” wrote one person who clearly understood what the man was going through. “As someone with Lupus I feel so bad for you!!” wrote another sympathetic viewer.

Others assured him that he would be able to get his pills replaced by his doctor, considering what had transpired, especially if he filed a police report.

While the burglary was no doubt stressful and upsetting for Jae, thankfully, he was able to get his meds replaced. In an update video he appears to be in a much better frame of mind; he’s much calmer and informs concerned viewers that all is well. 

People expressed their relief that Jae had been able to get his medication replaced so quickly, “Thank god you have all you need. We was gonna ride at dawn,” wrote one. Jae thanks everyone for their support during what was no doubt a very tough time for him.
