‘Is ICE using school buses?’: Woman records creepy empty bus circling her apartment in the dead of night but nobody knows why

People on TikTok are scratching their heads over this creepy mystery.

A woman on TikTok has been left puzzled by a mysterious and creepy bus that wakes her up in the middle of the night every night. She managed to capture the strange phenomenon on video but nobody can make heads or tails of what the bus is doing or why it seems to appear every night.

The woman, whose name is Lydia, explained, “This might sound insane but I need answers and I can’t find them anywhere so I’m bringing it to TikTok.” She then goes on to give a brief explanation of what’s going on. She claims that every night, very late into the night she hears the sound of a vehicle’s engine.

She states that it sounds as if it’s slowly circling the apartment complex she lives in, like a shark circling its prey. She describes the bus as “old-timey” looking and it’s always completely empty, except for the driver of course. The bus also has no license plates according to Lydia.

While none of these details are necessarily red flags on their own, when you combine them it starts to look a little bit suspicious. Lydia throws out a few theories, asking “Is ICE using school buses? Is it sex trafficking?” She could be onto something with the ICE theory. Lydia also attached a clip of the creepy looking bus loitering around the complex.

It’s a pretty spooky clip, like some kind of ghost bus. But what is the driver actually doing? Why would this old bus be circling the apartments? And why so late at night? And why is nobody on it? So many questions, so few answers.

TikTok has some theories

TikTok is normally a good place to go for wild theories and explanations, sometimes the people on the app even have the right answers (although this isn’t usually the case). Anyways, people immediately began speculating in the comments as to what this strange bus was doing outside Lydia’s apartment.

“Scanners. They are using penetrating scanners,” wrote one person on TikTok, suggesting that this was a part of some sort of surveillance operation that involved “Wi-Fi mapping.” Sounds a little conspiratorial but hey, I like it. But that doesn’t answer why here? What’s so interesting about Lydia’s apartment complex that requires such complex surveillance techniques? And surely whoever is doing the surveilling could have found a less conspicuous vehicle?

Another commenter came up with a less interesting, but much more plausible explanation as they asked, “Are you near a school bus lot? It could just be someone warming up their bus before their route starts.” Which explains almost everything except the lack of license plates.

In an update TikTok video Lydia claims the cops have been informed as well as the apartment managers. The story is still developing but hopefully we get an answer to this mystery soon.
