It’s not every day that a food chain restaurant sets the internet ablaze with an atrocious creation, but when it happens, it’s a sight to see. On March 21, Little Caesars decided it was time to give consumers something no one ever asked for, by introducing to their menu an innovative item — the Corncob Crust pizza.

The announcement was made via Little Caesars’ social media platforms and this pizza even got a marketing video solely dedicated to it. Go big or go home, as they say. Along with the surprise announcement, the restaurant also made sure to preemptively acknowledge the many words of thanks it expected from consumers, by claiming “It’s the crust the world craves. You’re welcome, America.”

According to the video, this pizza’s crust is made out of actual corn on the cob, decorated with pats of butter on top and sprinkles of corn kernels to add the final touch. The item also comes with the inclusion of a two litter bottle of liquified butter for consumers to dip their slices into — or drink, whatever suits their taste.

Of course, as many folks can guess, this is nothing more than a joke from Little Caesars, as a way to tease customers about the highly requested return of the Pretzel Crust pizza. Even so, a few people were left slightly confused and put off by the fact that it’s not April Fools’ Day yet, which makes the situation funnier.

Reactions to the hypothetical new item are noticeably divided, with some Twitter users deeming it an abomination and wondering who in the world would ask for such a thing.

Meanwhile, a few brave souls have decided to embrace the unknown, expressing their willingness to give the Corncob Crust pizza a shot — if it ever becomes a real menu item, that is.

For now, it looks like food adventurers will have to live with the disappointment of the Corncob Crust pizza not being a real thing. But who knows, Little Caesars might consider making it a reality sometime in the future. Stranger things have happened, after all.
