‘It’s not your house’: Homeowner floored after finding TikTok scammer trying to rent out the condo she owns

She found a video of her own home up for rent on TikTok.

A woman on TikTok has called out a supposed real estate agent after they posted a tour of her condo claiming that it was for rent. She shared her bizarre interaction with the scammer online after they refused to take the video down, claiming it wasn’t the same property despite tell-tale signs that it definitely was.

While scrolling on TikTok, Madison O’Hara stumbled upon a peculiar video advertising a loft property that was for rent, there was just one problem, the property being advertised was Madison’s. “This is my loft that I bought with my fiancé in 2024. This is my exact unit. Not for rent.” she claims in her now viral TikTok video. What was going on here? Surely there must have been some sort of mix-up? Or was it some sort of property scam?

Naturally Madison reached out to the account that posted the video only to be met with hostility from the individual. “Not understanding why you are texting me?” They responded after Madison explained the situation. When she tried to explain, “you posted a video of my house saying it’s for rent and it very much is not,” the person gave a petulant response telling Madison it’s “not your house” and then proceeded to block her.

#greenscreenvideo #greenscreen every single unit in this building is different. That video was taken in MY LOFT that I OWN in 2023 so I am not sure why this person is posting it saying it is for rent. But she was really rude and blocked me so please go blow up her comments 🙂

While many apartments and condos may look the same from the inside there are a few details that confirmed this video was of Madison’s home. It has the “same light fixture, same pole, same double windows.” She adds that every unit in the block is different so there wouldn’t be any other properties with those exact features.

TikTok investigates

The TikTok account that posted the video of Madison’s condo goes by @Mosstia on the platform. It seems that the footage she was using to advertise the property was taken before Madison bought the property which would explain why it’s empty. As for an explanation as to why Mosstia posted the video, well, it seems to have been a part of a scam.

TikTok account @eagleslover215 covered the story and revealed that Mosstia had actually scammed another woman back in January 2023. He also reveals that the scammer, real name Jakerra Hester, was arrested for identity fraud earlier this year.

So it seems the real estate agent gig is just another one of her scams and now that she’s been caught out she’s going on the attack, accusing Madison of being the liar. Despite blocking her Hester did respond, claiming that the property she was showing had a standing shower whereas Madison’s property had a tub. Madison immediately responded showing that her property had a standing shower, proving once again that the alleged scammer was lying.
