Man spots Charlie Kirk’s doppelgänger at an airport weeks after his death, fuels conspiracy theories

What even is going on in America?

Two and a half weeks after Charlie Kirk‘s brutal murder at the University of Utah, a man recorded someone looking strikingly similar to Kirk at an airport, fueling several conspiracy theories.

In a now viral video shared across social media, a man recorded someone sitting casually at an airport, who appears to be a lookalike of the late conservative activist Kirk. The alleged double of Kirk can be seen sipping a cup of iced coffee while working on his laptop with his AirPods on, seemingly unaware that he is being recorded.

The original poster of the video, TikToker @lifeofhippie, secretly recorded the man and posted it to his TikTok account, asserting that either Kirk is still alive or he just encountered his doppelgänger. However, only the side profile of the man can be seen in the recording, making it hard to fully match his face with Kirk’s.

When the video found its way to X, users were quick to give their verdicts, though none were in agreement. People who disagreed with the presumption either plainly denied his facial similarity to Kirk or found hilarious reasons to discredit the claim. “Charlie Kirk doesn’t fly commercial,” one wrote, while others joked that the “iced coffee disproves it,” and “Charlie Kirk would never sit like that.”

Several others asserted that Kirk was “one of the most generic white men,” and one jokingly added, “I can look down the street right now and find five guys that look like Charlie Kirk.” However, a fraction of people also used this opportunity to fuel their conspiracy theories about Kirk still being alive and faking his death.

The OP was also criticized by users for recording a random person without consent and posting it publicly. “People would do anything for clout,” one wrote, while others shared similar sentiments: “I hate the internet. You can wake up one day and just be viral for no reason.” Thus far, the man seen in the video has not come forward to speak about it.
