Few things ignite people as much as the salacious conversation surrounding food and what goes on it, and that rings especially true after a Twitter account attempted to grill fellow McDonald‘s lovers for how they eat a particular breakfast sandwich.

Twitter user @astoldbyneekz shared the opinion that McGriddles are dry without the addition of this popular condiment, and most of the responses are absolutely disgusted by the fact that she adds ketchup (yes, ketchup) to her bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Of course, it’s not just any sandwich; the buns are actually made of griddle pancakes and bring a “sweet maple syrup” taste to every bite. So yeah, adding ketchup to that just doesn’t feel like the most delicious way to spruce up your breakfast.

This first response has got to be our favorite — a complement served with a healthy dose of disagreement, and it’s valid. The original Tweeter is stunning, but people just can’t get on board with her opinions of what makes a McGriddle great.

Of course, some people think the addition of tomato puree is a punishable offense, one that just might have you seeing red and blue lights in your rearview.

In fact, it might just be the McDonald’s employees themselves who call the police on you the moment you ask for ketchup to put on the sandwich.

The reaction videos get better the further you scroll down the comments section; this one was our personal favorite.

This Twitter user was simply impressed by a “hot take” so bad it was responsible for the getting word McGriddle trending — and you’ve got to agree, it is kind of awesome.

The responses to this opinion are pulling in some of the best image and gif reactions we’ve seen in quite some time.

This Tweet response is getting to the heart of the matter — what exactly is someone going through to make them think ketchup on a McGriddle is a great choice? Is everything okay?

McDonald’s even got in on the discussion, asking whether the words McGriddle and ketchup belong in the same sentence at all. We think the resounding answer is no!

No matter where you stand on the McGriddle and ketchup argument — it looks like this debate will go down in history as one of the most heated topics of a Mcdonald’s menu in recent memory. Pancakes and ketchup…make it make sense!
