Ohio native Kristen has been a mainstay on TikTok, all because of her storytime series titled My Crazy Ex from Hell. In it, she provides her narrative of everything that was allegedly wrong with her past relationship. She has had infamous moments hit the FYP before, but episode 36 is the installment that found me. This post has already racked up 3.7 million views, and the gift-giving disaster she described left quite a few newcomers wondering what the rest of the series held.
Kirstin opened her post bluntly, stating, “One time, my ex screamed at me and threw a toddler-level tantrum, all because I bought him his dream guitar for Christmas.” In the series, the TikToker references her medical condition to call her partner ‘Quinoa,’ claiming that “this man was a pain in my a-s.” In this video, the alleged drama centered around an LX1E Little Martin acoustic-electric guitar. It is his dream guitar because it is also the exact guitar his idol, Ed Sheeran, plays.
Kirstin claims that he mentioned it one night, stating that it had been on his wishlist for three years. She described herself as a “gift-giving a-s b—-h,” and decided to make this happen for him that Christmas. So she picked up extra shifts at Noodle and Company, created a gift fund with his parents, her parents, and his friends, and even pinched pennies and survived on ramen. All while he was allegedly unemployed. She was determined to afford the $500 guitar.
She saved for two and a half months
According to her post, that is how long it took to save the money. However, Christmas was now around the corner, so she couldn’t ship it in and had to pick it up in person at a Guitar Center 20 minutes away. She claimed it was the only store that had that specific guitar in a 50-mile radius. When she got home from work, she told Quinoa that she was going to pick up “his Christmas gift” with her friend Trinity. Instead of showing joy, he allegedly exploded.
“He freaks the f—k out on me, dude,” she claims. “He starts screaming at me immediately, and he’s telling me how he can’t believe I’m leaving him again after leaving him at home alone all f—-ing day.” This is her perspective, and it cannot be verified, but he allegedly claimed he didn’t care about the gift and threatened that there would be “huge f—-ing problems” if she left to get it.
She claimed that she laid out how important it is, that everyone had contributed to the fund. Thus, she had to go to this. According to her, he screamed, “Give him all the f—-ing money back. Tell him I don’t want this f—-ing gift.”
The situation then escalated when he allegedly stormed out to her car, which was parked in front of the window, and began “punching the steering wheel” and “screaming, he’s crying.” Kirsten recalled, “He’s acting a f—-ing fool.” He allegedly called her and kept wailing, “Kirsten, please don’t leave! You can’t do this to me!”
She admitted that it upset her because she put in a lot of time and effort into this gift. She eventually snapped, “Quinoa, you have no idea how much effort I put into getting you this f—-ing guitar!” She claimed he immediately went quiet and said he didn’t hear her, after which he was suddenly fine with her leaving to pick up the gift. In a different instance, the failure to bring a gift card allegedly led a bride’s family to investigate a New Jersey TikToker.
This alleged incident is a classic example of what PsychCentral describes as an adult temper tantrum, where an individual might resort to shouting, slamming doors, or aggressive behavior when they don’t get their way. PsychCentral notes that while these outbursts can sometimes be linked to mental health conditions, they are often used as a means to manipulate others. In a different instance, a TikToker shared that her ex allegedly withheld gifts as punishment.
Her viewers were shocked. One user wrote, “I would dump you. Not him, but you. I’m absolutely rage baited, like how in the eff would you ever for a second think he deserved a $1 gift much less a $500 gift after that?? Just the utter lack of respect for yourself and then making excuses for that lump of nothing when your friend confronted you?? Totally appalled.” Another questioned, “And that didn’t turn u off and make u want to breakup with him?”
Kirsten admitted in the video that she made excuses for his behavior, citing his alleged abandonment issues and BPD. Unfortunately, she seemed to forgive his tantrum since she invited TikTok to “come back for episode 37.”
