‘Remind me to mute this video’: Student asks her ‘friend’ for a favor, instead she receives a video showing what they really think of her

What's their problem?

They say the friends you make in college will be friends for life and for the most part that is true. Most college friends can rely on each other to help when it comes to things like sharing study notes and whatnot but unfortunately not everyone can be so reliable.

Kate, a college student on TikTok, found out what her so-called “friends” really thought of her after asking them to send pictures of a textbook to help her study. Instead of pictures she received a video of her friend flipping through the pages of the book while cussing her out to another woman in the room.

She can be heard saying, “She texted me and she’s like, “can you send me pictures of the textbook pages?”” The other woman then asks, “Why would you do that? Stop! Why are you helping her?” The “friend” replies, “Because what else am I supposed to do? Say no?” Before it ends she says, “remind me to mute this video before I send it.” Evidently nobody reminded her.

Time to get some new friends

Obviously that would be incredibly upsetting to hear, especially from someone Kate considered a friend. Finding out that they evidently don’t like her for seemingly no reason would definitely hurt, but it’s probably better than never knowing at all, now she can cut them off and find herself some better friends who won’t talk about her like that behind her back.

People on TikTok were eager to find out what happened next and whether Kate confronted the two girls but there hasn’t been an update as of yet. Others wanted to know why the two girls were so against helping her out, “Bro, it’s just a textbook,” wrote one viewer, “Why they acting like it’s a secret journal??”

“I really hope you texted back “you forgot to mute the video”” wrote another. The worst part is that the video featuring the pages wasn’t even readable, “U CANT EVEN READ IT” commented one person.

Some viewers shared similar experiences they had in college with one person claiming their friend charged them $10 “for a single page for an assignment.” Clearly the drive to help others doesn’t come naturally to everyone, some would rather just watch others fail.

Whatever the case, it’s clear that these girls are the problem here and not Kate. Sadly not everyone in college is friendship material but hopefully she’s able to find a group of people she clicks with better soon.
