‘We don’t complain, we just got up and left’: Florida man’s Outback Steakhouse experience goes viral after what staff did

A man went to an Outback Steakhouse in Florida for dinner. But he left the restaurant after just 15 minutes because no one from the staff paid attention to him or his wife. TikTok user Gangsta Gramps shared a video that now has over 1 million views.

In the clip, he films himself walking away from the Outback location where he wanted to eat. “I am one of those customers. We don’t complain. We just got up and left,” he said, according to Bro Bible. The video shows him and his wife sitting at their table with menus in hand. They waited for 15 minutes, but no staff member came to greet them or take their order. He points out that the restaurant wasn’t even busy at the time. 

Gangsta Gramps and his wife decided to go to BJ’s Restaurant instead. He praised BJ’s for having great prices, good food, and excellent service. The official BJ’s account even commented on his video, saying, “Love to see it!”

The couple found better service elsewhere that night

The TikTok user mentions that he and his wife used to visit Outback regularly. They had recently started going back to the chain after some time away. But this bad experience disappointed them once again. Florida has been making headlines lately for bizarre true crime cases involving restaurants, though this situation was simply poor customer service.

At the end of his video, he speaks directly to Outback’s management. He suggests they need to fix the problems with their staff and service quality. He also explains in the comments that he has 30 years of experience managing restaurants himself, so he knows how things should work.

Viewers had mixed reactions to his decision. Some people agreed that leaving after 15 minutes was completely fair. “Im assuming you didnt seat yourself and the hostess sat you.. If so then i believe you handled it well.. shame on them..” one person wrote. 

Others thought he should have handled the situation differently. “”Excuse me.” Literally all that was needed to fix that situation.” one person wrote. 

Outback Steakhouse servers have landed in the headlines for the wrong reasons before. A few years ago, a Florida server complained that a church left no tip on a $700 order, and later lost her job.

The Sunshine State continues to produce shocking incidents that grab attention, whether serious or service-related.

Outback Steakhouse reached out to him through a direct message on TikTok. They apologized and asked for his contact information to make things right. But Gangsta Gramps says he doesn’t want anything from them. He plans to return to the same location next week and will record that visit too, whether the experience is good or bad.
