‘What in the Little Shop of Horror’: A Venom-like tentacled alien is going viral on TikTok and people can’t decide if it’s real or not

People on TikTok think this creature could herald the end of the world.

The internet (especially TikTok) is full of supposedly “real” footage of aliens or never-seen-before creatures that we’re supposed to believe truly exist. While there are plenty of alien hoaxes out there, some of these videos are incredibly convincing, possibly even real!

Recently, a series of videos posted by TikTok user, “kinpanama” have been going viral as the account creator has claimed to have discovered a new form of life, possibly from another world entirely. The story begins with footage of what looks like a small, shrivelled-up potato which Kin claims is a meteorite that fell in Pedregal, Panama. The clip, which now has over a million views, shows the peculiar object being poked and prodded with a stick.

Other videos posted to the account show that the meteorite seems to be emanating heat, however, things don’t get really interesting until a little over a week later when we see that something appears to be growing out of it. Whatever it is, it seems to be moving.

The alien grows fast

The whole bizarre incident is well documented by Kinpanama, who shows viewers everything. The organism grows and changes, darkening in color with black tentacles protruding from all over its body, it sort of looks like the Venom symbiote in many ways although it mostly remains still (with the occasional movement). In a more recent video we can see that it has been moved to a larger container as it has grown so fast.

Quiero llamarlo K25, que dicen ustedes😓

There was plenty of speculation on TikTok over what the strange creature could be. Many wondered if it was possibly wormwood, according to the Bible, wormwood is a star that falls and poisons the waters during the Third Trumpet judgement. Considering how many Christians were talking about the Rapture this week maybe it really does all tie together, especially when you consider where Kinpanama decided to set his alien friend free.

@kinpanama

El (K25) está bien , tranquilos! que me hacen sentir mal, es más bueno que malo.

That’s right, after growing pressure from his viewers, Kin ultimately decided it was for the best to let the organism, which he had named K25, go. He released it into the murky waters of an abandoned military bunker. If the wormwood theories are true then that water could soon become pretty toxic.

Is any of this real? The people of TikTok think so

Real or not, you’ve got to give kinpanama some credit for creativity. “So we’re all convinced this is real now right?” Asked one viewer, “why is the government doing nothing[?]” another concerned individual wrote.

However, as with most content of this type, it is most likely (definitely) fake. An official statement from the Metropolitan Natural Park in Panama clarified that there was no such creature in the park where the bunker Kin claims to have released K25. We’ve seen plenty of convincing hoaxes such as this in the past and this is just another one to add to the list. However, kinpanama’s videos certainly did a great job at capturing people’s imaginations, perhaps he could have a future career in practical effects work.
