The social media platform TikTok is giving individuals the excuse not to accept responsibility for their actions with the new popular trend, “I’m Only Human.”

For context, the trend, inspired by the lyrics and the video to Rag’n’Bone Man‘s 2017 song, “Human,” showcases a green screen clip of the singer in front of various scenarios and actions — some downright outrageous — that could be blamed on that particular person or group. Still, because they are “only human,” it has been excused.

In one viral TikTok video shared by @meepvz earlier this month, the social media user described an event surrounding the teaching abilities of physics teachers while including a clip of Rag’n’Bone Man’s official video for “Human.” The caption reads, “Physics teachers after not teaching for a month only to give the hardest test known to man,” as Rag’n’Bone Man sings the lyrics, “I’m only human after all / Don’t put the blame on me.”

Although this particular trend’s origin is unclear, social media users have expressed their opinion on Twitter regarding its virality. One Twitter user shared that any meme with Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Human” song is “top tier.”

At the same time, another individual claimed how much they enjoyed the memes.

A third user mentioned that half of their camera roll is filled with “I’m Only Human” memes.

While another person mentioned that they are nominating this meme as “the unfunniest meme of 2023.”

Singer Rag’n’Bone has yet to respond to his song gaining new life thanks to the recent TikTok videos.
