Woman agrees to meet 23yo LA guy who turned out to be a decade old. Then he tries to convince her to make adult content: ‘all he’s doing is bragging’

TikTok creator Greta Devereux says a recent night out in Los Angeles left her shaken. She met the man through Instagram, and the two set up a date at a bar. The date did not go the way she expected, and she walked out before finishing her meal.

Devereux said the man’s Instagram photos made him look about 23 years old. In person, though, he appeared to be closer to 35. “And he shows up and he’s like 35,” she said in the video. She believes he had posted old pictures of himself. Meeting someone online can feel different in person, as another person from Utah found after seeing his date’s address.

At first, she thought he was just nervous or awkward. That impression changed once they reached the bar, she said. According to Devereux, he barely spoke to her. Instead, he looked at other women nearby.”He’s literally like staring at everyone, every other f***g girl’s ass in the bar,” she recalled. She said she couldn’t understand his behavior.

Once they sat down, the conversation turned to his job. She said he told her he manages influencers for a living. “And all he’s doing is bragging about how he manages all of these influencers,” she said. The conversation then turned to OnlyFans, with Devereux saying he pushed her to start an account. She said he framed it as a way to grow a following and suggested she move to Miami, where he claimed he could help her.

Devereux said she left before finishing her plate. She wasn’t the first to cut a Los Angeles date short, with one Hinge date ending after a single question. Her video closes by asking whether this is what dating is like in Los Angeles.

The comments under her video took the conversation in different directions. One person wrote, “Why is everyone hating on you like this is such a degrading experience and it is valid to feel this way.” Another took a wider view, writing, “Guys I don’t think it’s about this one date it’s about how demoralizing it is to know that this is an average dating experience and the absolute fatigue it causes you.” 

A third offered advice instead, saying, “It is depressing but going out with strangers is not the answer. Join a group of like minded people and get to know people before you go out.”

Devereux has not said whether she blocked the man or reported the account. She has not shared his name or any other identifying details in the video.
