Woman dyes her hair brown and receives a furious voice note from her boyfriend because he prefers blondes: ‘Tell me you dumped him?’

A woman on TikTok has shared the expletive-filled rant her angry boyfriend sent her after she dyed her hair a color he didn’t like. She allegedly received the shocking voice note after dying her blonde hair brown, and now people on TikTok are begging for the woman to break up with her boyfriend.

TikTok user Kat shared a screen recording showing the voice note her boyfriend had apparently sent via message. During the rant, the boyfriend can be heard using derogatory and demeaning language: “You look ten times f—ing better blonde,” he says, before calling her new hair color, “f—ing awful.”

The voice message contains more inappropriate remarks, calling Kat a “fat f–k,” and demanding that she bleach her hair again. In a reveal video on her second account, Kat revealed the new hair color, the one which had prompted such an explosive reaction from her boyfriend. 

Viewers were shocked as they claimed that it looked “very pretty,” and they couldn’t work out why the boyfriend was so upset. What’s more, many pointed out that Kat’s hair wasn’t even really brown in color: “Girl, that’s still blonde – it’s not even dark blonde. he trippin.” Regardless, even if her hair had looked bad, most agreed that it wasn’t the boyfriend’s place to try and control her or how she looked, as it was her hair and her body.

TikTok calls out the misogyny

The misogynistic and concerning language of the voice note elicited a rather strong reaction from the people of TikTok, who were less than impressed with the man’s behavior.

The response was pretty unanimous, with commenters criticizing the boyfriend. “This is literally unacceptable. No man that truly loves his woman would speak to her like that ESPECIALLY because of dyed hair.” One person wrote. Meanwhile, others called for Kat to break up with the man if she hadn’t already.

“Hopefully now it’s EX bf?” questioned one concerned commenter. “Please tell me this gave you the ick and you moved on quickly,” added another. A few even implied that Kat should leave for her own safety, suggesting that her boyfriend’s unreasonable level of anger could mean he’s dangerous to be around.

Some on TikTok took it a step further by doing a little bit of stalking to find pictures of the boyfriend, whom they proceeded to mock for his appearance.

Ultimately, it’s unclear what happened next; whether Kat broke up with her boyfriend or if they worked things out is up for debate. Commenters have continued to ask if she dumped him but have not had a response from her to confirm or deny either way.
