Woman picks up a pack of Sam’s Club chocolate chip cookies. Then she found something nutty: ‘Thank god, I’m not allergic’

The packaging does come with a warning that it might contain nuts.

A TikTok user recently discovered a literal steel nut embedded in her Sam’s Club chocolate chip cookie. This unexpected additional ingredient was spotted by TikToker Avery Gohel, known on the platform as @yourfuturewife278, who shared the experience with her followers.

According to BroBible, the post has already racked up 995,900 views as people react to the bizarre find. The post features a photo of Gohel holding the cookie with a metallic nut clearly lodged into the right side of the treat. She captioned the image with the text, “Thank God I’m not allergic to nuts!! Thank’s Sam’s Club!!”

Some viewers couldn’t resist making jokes about the situation. One user quipped, “Packaging said may include nuts. Just didn’t specify which kind.” Another person jumped in with, “Did you happen to mention to them that you are iron deficient?” while a different commenter couldn’t resist a jab at a competitor, saying, “Wouldn’t happen at Costco,” followed by a shrugging emoji.

Sam’s Club’s return policy seems very generous since they offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee

Beyond the jokes, many commenters were quick to warn Gohel about how she should proceed with the company, with several urging her to skip direct communication. One person wrote, “DON’T SPEAK WITH SAMS CLUB GET A LAWYER!!!” while another echoed the sentiment by saying, “DON’T ANSWER ANY OF THOSE DAMNED SAM’S CLUB DMS, I BEG OF YOU.” Someone else pointed out the corporate connection, noting, “Walmart owns Sam’s Club so go ahead and call that lawyer.”

BroBible pointed out that Gohel had tagged Sam’s Club in her video description, asking, “Sam’s Club please explain this.” The official Sam’s Club account did actually respond, reaching out in the comments of the video. They wrote, “Hello, thank you for reaching out to Sam’s Club. Please send us a PM, we’re happy to help.”

Mashed noted that membership-based stores, like Sam’s Club and Costco, usually pride themselves on having very generous return policies. Sam’s Club specifically offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, which generally allows members to return most items, including food, if they aren’t happy with their purchase.

The policy states that if you are a current member and are not satisfied with an item bought online or in the club, they are happy to issue a refund or a replacement, with a few specific exceptions like electronics or major appliances.

When it comes to food, the store is reportedly usually quite accommodating. They generally allow returns for items that are expired, rotten, or simply off-tasting. However, there is a catch. The store tracks these returns, and they do reserve the right to limit them or potentially revoke a membership if they feel the policy is being abused.

Per Mashed, if you encounter a problem with a perishable item, you can use your receipt in-store to process a refund at the Member Services desk. If you don’t have the physical receipt, the team can usually look up your purchase history, though it might take a bit more time.

For online orders, you can call customer service with your membership and order numbers. Although Sam’s Club actually requests that you do not bring spoiled or opened food items back into the store.

Recently, Sam’s Club has been featured in quite a few TikTok videos because of anomalies with their food. A Missouri food reviewer picked up lamb chops, only to find the meat contaminated with worms. A Washington man, on the other hand, picked up a pack of meat strips, pretty happy with his deal, until he took a closer look at the packaging and had one question. Why isn’t it just labeled as jerky?
