Woman put on anti-psychotics for being ‘paranoid’ about home invader. A decade later, the truth tells finally vindicates her

It definitely wasn’t the voices in her head.

Chloe Spooner (@cspooner.25) just shared a spine-tingling story in a viral TikTok that unfolded a decade ago when doctors prescribed her antipsychotic medication for believing someone was living in her loft in England. However, she was vindicated when the police confirmed her suspicions were absolutely true.

Chloe explained that she kept hearing strange noises coming from her loft space. When she told her friends and family about her suspicions that someone might be squatting up there, they simply didn’t believe her. Instead, they suggested she seek medical advice. Per The Sun, Chloe was already known to mental health services and was suffering from PTSD at the time, describing herself as “crazy” and “wild” back then.

Eventually, doctors prescribed her Quetiapine, an antipsychotic medication used for conditions like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, which Chloe said “wiped” her out and made her feel like a “zombie.” Her concerns began to escalate when she noticed a crack in the loft hatch, as if it had been opened. While she initially thought it was “strange,” things got even more eerie later that night when she felt like someone was staring back at her when she looked at it.

That is a hard nope from me

When she spoke of her experience, and even hearing footsteps, her friends and family shut her down, asking if it was “just the voices in [her] head.” A ‘dodgy’ neighbor also denied hearing anything. When she finally got too scared to stay home, her friends formed “an alliance,” deciding she needed to speak to a doctor about her persistent belief, which led to her prescription.

It is always terrifying to feel like someone is watching you. It’s scarier still when you can see someone watching you. Two months after her initial suspicions, Chloe finally called the police when she saw a man. “This person is opening the latch one night, blatantly in front of my eyes and he’s staring at me,” she vividly recalled. When the police arrived, they went into the loft and quickly discovered that Chloe’s fears were, in fact, real.

“The police have come, they’ve got up in the loft, and on my life, there was someone there,” Chloe shared, detailing how the squatter was living there with “loads of bags up there, loads of backpacks.” The police confirmed the squatter was actually her ‘dodgy’ neighbor’s friend.

Reflecting on the “insane” situation, Chloe summarized her ordeal: “So basically, in a nutshell, I got put on antipsychotics because everyone thought I was crazy, but I wasn’t and there was actually someone living in my roof and he was tormenting me as well.”

Commenters were absolutely floored by her jaw-dropping story. One person commented, “Oh wow that’s terrifying,” while another added, “New fear unlocked!!… Wow bless you..so scary.” While her story is truly terrifying, it is scarier to me that her concerns and fears were overlooked and dismissed. Just recently, we lost a young boy to suicide because his concerns were treated as attempts to get attention.
