Woman’s bag gets completely drenched during flight, then she discovers the disgusting truth

Gross, but not uncommon.

Airlines started charging fees for checked bags years ago. Since then, passengers have been packing more items into their carry-on bags. Airlines with bag fees have 27% more carry-ons than those without fees. People now use tricks like hiding items in pillows or jackets to bring more stuff on board.

This has made airplane cabins very crowded. Almost every available space now has luggage in it. When someone spills something or has an accident, nearby bags can easily get affected. A TikTok user named Amber Berndt recently shared a disturbing travel story. She posted a video showing her damp backpack after a Sun Country Airlines flight.

According to Bro Bible, Berndt wrote in her video that her bag was sitting in urine during the entire flight. “Just got off my flight and realized my bag was sitting in pee the whole time,” she writes in the overlay text. “URINE LITERAL URINE.” She also made it clear that this happened on the plane itself, not in a bathroom.

Airlines rarely address these disgusting incidents properly

Berndt placed her backpack under the seat in front of her, which is where most passengers store their carry-on items. Even more shocking, she mentioned in the caption that this was the second time this had happened to her.

The video doesn’t explain how Berndt knew the liquid was urine. However, experts say that passengers soiling themselves on planes is actually quite rare. A 2019 article in MEL Magazine looked into this issue by talking to flight attendants and pilots. They said these incidents don’t happen often, and when they do, it’s usually children who are involved.

Despite being rare, many passengers claim they’ve experienced similar problems. “This happened to me! I heard the little girl in front of me asking to go to the bathroom and her parents ignored her the entire flight. Go to get my bag from under her seat and guess what” one person wrote in the comments. This isn’t the only embarrassing incident involving aeroplane passengers that has gone viral recently.

Another commenter revealed that they board flights prepared for this situation. “I carry one of those TJ Maxx tote bags they sell by the cashier that goes on the floor first. The lady sitting next to me, looked at me like I was crazy, but I am not risking this shit,” they wrote.

Given the challenges flight crews face, including what pilots actually earn at major airlines, it’s unclear why passenger compensation remains so difficult. Many users now say they’ll carry plastic bags to protect their luggage on future flights.
