‘You got fired and not him?!’: Woman gets hit on by work colleague twice her age but she’s the one who loses her job

Unfortunately the patriarchy is alive and well as a woman has shared her horrible experience with a male co-worker on TikTok in which he berates her for not accepting his advances. The worst part is that she lost her job afterwards rather than him.

Kylee Flinn posted the old clip online after cleaning out her phone and “finding some interesting & questionable periods of my life.” In the video we can hear the colleague in the background berating Kylee for not hearing from her despite the fact that they are not in a relationship and he is twice her age.

Talk about being clingy, this is yet another example of a creep hassling a woman after she was nice to him. Kylee explains that the colleague crashed out after being rejected by her but seeing her kiss somebody else. Let’s not forget, this man is her work colleague, he is not in a relationship with her, and he’s twice her age.

While Kylee tries to calm the man down he isn’t having any of it. His entitled attitude practically oozes from every word as he somehow believes she owes an explanation to him despite them not having anything other than a professional relationship.

What happened to the employee?

Viewers on TikTok were understandably appalled by the entitled employee’s remarks. “HR now,” recommended one person, adding, “he’s out of line,” another added, “At that point I’m losing my job idgaf.” A third wrote, “this is why I’d never get romantically involved with someone at work,” to which Kylee responded, “You can’t be nice to certain men without them confusing it as involvement.”

Some viewers were confused as to how the argument started with some wondering if Kylee had done anything to provoke such an outburst although she clarified that her and her co-worker in no way had been romantically involved.

Guess who ended up being fired

While the advice given by viewers may have been helpful at the time, according to Kylee, this happened some time ago and unfortunately led to her being let go. In another video she gives a little more context clarifying that all she did was be nice to the man but “that’s sadly all it takes for some men.” According to her the man had been working at the locally owned establishment for many years meaning the owners ultimately took his side over Kylee’s.

The comments were filled with outrage as people recommended she “consult an attorney.” Another wrote, “GIRL YOU ABOUT TO BE RICH!!!!!!!! Get an employment lawyer asap!!”

It’s unclear how long ago this happened although Kylee states that she was 22 at the time meaning the man would have been well into his forties. Unfortunately it seems many women still have to deal with creepy men in everyday life, thankfully there is a small amount of justice in the man being dunked on by netizens on TikTok. But the fact Kylee was fired still seems very unfair.
