Grizzlies Retain Gay

It appears that the Memphis Grizzlies have been able to ink their young star Rudy Gay to a new contract. The new deal is reportedly worth 81.6 million over 5 years.

It appears that the Memphis Grizzlies have been able to ink their young star Rudy Gay to a new contract.  The new deal is reportedly worth 81.6 million over 5 years.

This deal will not be official until the 8th of July but it is confirmed by agents of Gay.  The young star was a restricted free agent and was expected to receive heavy interest from the likes of the Bulls, Kicks, Nets and several others.  This is a step in the right direction for the Grizz in order to maintain their youth and star power.  They don’t have the most attractive franchise or market so locking up Gay for the long term was integral for them.
