After failing to complete a blockbuster deal with the Denver Nuggets for Carmelo Anthony, the New Jersey Nets have traded Devin Harris and Derrick Favors for to the Utah Jazz in return for All-Star Deron Williams. This deal is still in its early stages but should be made official by this afternoon through the NBA head offices.
New Jersey was really trying to be part of that massive Carmelo deal but when that wasn’t going through, trade rumors involving guard Devin Harris began to spiral. It was only a matter of time before some sort of move was made by the Nets.
In other news, late last night the Toronto Raptors acquired James Johnson from the Chicago Bulls for a first round pick. A second year player out of Wake Forest, Johnson has averaged 3.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
