The Muppets Are Coming To The WWE

On the Halloween episode of WWE's Monday Night RAW, the Muppets will invade pro wrestling. I'm sure many hardcore wrestling fans are rolling their eyes at the thought of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal, and Gonzo sharing some TV time with John Cena, The Miz, Alberto Del Rio, and C.M. Punk, but I think this will make for some entertaining and classic WWE TV moments.

On the Halloween episode of WWE’s Monday Night RAW, the Muppets will invade pro wrestling. I’m sure many hardcore wrestling fans are rolling their eyes at the thought of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal, and Gonzo sharing some TV time with John Cena, The Miz, Alberto Del Rio, and C.M. Punk, but I think this will make for some entertaining and classic WWE TV moments.

Some of the most memorable happenings on either Monday Night RAW or Smackdown in the last 10-15 years had nothing to do with the in ring action.  I’m not saying there haven’t been exciting matches in that time, but wrestling fans know exactly what I’m talking about when I mention The Rock’s birthday bash, Stone Cold Steve Austin’s beer shower, Kurt Angle’s milk shower, the birth of Mr. Socko, or the bed pan to the head of Vince McMahon. The entertainment aspect of Sports Entertainment has become just as important as the sport, er, wrestling aspect.

The Muppets will be in Atlanta for the October 31st RAW Supershow, airing on the USA Network, hyping their Thanksgiving movie titled ingeniously enough, The Muppets, and I can’t wait to see how they get involved in the action. The backstage skits should be fun, and I hope they give a live microphone to Statler and Waldorf.

"Hey John Cena, You Suck!"
