Well, the worst kept secret in the history of the NFL was pretty much made official as reports surfaced stating that the Indianapolis Colts have told quarterback Andrew Luck that they will draft him with their number one pick in this year’s draft. For a long time now it’s been a two-horse race for the number one pick, with Stanford’s Luck and Baylor’s Robert Griffin being locked in as the top two choices this year.

The edge has always gone to Luck though and this news comes as no surprise to most people who see him as the natural successor to long time Colts QB Peyton Manning, who has signed with the Denver Broncos. Luck is an elite quarterback who possesses similar abilities to Manning and will be able to step right in and make a difference to a Colts team who had the worst regular season record last year.

It is still widely believed that the Washington Redskins will select Robert Griffin with the second pick in the draft.

So, look to have it confirmed on April 26 as it now seems certain that the Andrew Luck will be playing his football for the Colts next year.
