Roger Clemens Found Guilty In The Court Of Puplic Opinion

Roger Clemens has been found guilty in the court of public opinion and honestly, that's all that really matters. But for those that want the facts, Roger Clemens was actually found not guilty on all six charges in his perjury trial. Most casual fans probably don't even know what he was on trial for. They know it had something to do with using steroids or performance enhancing drugs (PED), but he was on trial for lying to Congress. Which is hypocritical in my opinion with how much Congress lies to the American public, but this isn't the place for that rant.

Clemens was accused of perjury, making false statements, and obstructing Congress during his 2008 testimony about PEDs. The star witness for the government is publicly perceived to be as slimy as Clemens. Personal trainer Brian McNamee is linked to numerous alleged cheaters, and various drugs.

Clemens had a Hall Of Fame career, but then all this PED hullabaloo came to light. He’ll no doubt be on the outside looking in like fellow cheaters Rafael Palmeiro and Mark McGuire.

In January of 2013 Clemens will be eligible for Baseball’s Hall of Fame, along with Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds. Two other players with Hall worthy numbers, but sketchy pasts.

History will not be kind to those that played in the steroid era.
