Paul, coming in with an undefeated professional record—three wins all by KO—will take on professional boxing debutant Woodley. Most recently, Paul defeated MMA veteran and teammate of Woodley’s Ben Askren via TKO in the first round of their scheduled eight-round bout.

Despite having massive success in MMA, Askren, who is predominantly a wrestler, had little boxing experience making this jump to a knockout artist like Woodley a massive test for Paul to accomplish.

The Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley boxing bout will be held at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, which just happens to be Paul’s hometown.

“I grew up going to Cavs, Browns, and Indians games on the weekends, dreaming as a little kid of one day being in a position to put on a show for my hometown like they did,” Paul said in a press release. “On August 29, that dream comes true. My biggest challenge to date, in front of the city that made me, on pay per view for the world to see me knock out a UFC champion.”

Woodley also shared his thoughts on the bout in the press release stating “I’m a grown ass man, I don’t play games with kids. They brought me in to take the trash out. You’re welcome!”

The bout will be broadcast on Showtime PPV at 8 p.m. ET Sunday, August 29. As well as the headline bout between Paul and Woodley will be an undercard boasting WBC/WBO Featherweight World Champion Amanda “The Real Deal Serrano taking on challenger, Super Bantamweight world champion Yamileth Mercado.
