At the moment, the motive behind Lee’s murder remains unknown. However, Forbes reported that Momeni and Lee were seen as friends, according to an anonymous neighbor. People who knew Momeni found it shocking that he was suspected of murder and hoped it wasn’t him. Even Lee’s wife was described as ‘perplexing’ when she learned who the suspect was during an interview with KTVU. However, she also told the Daily Beast that Momeni was a “soulless piece of shit.”

According to Momeni’s LinkedIn profile, he is the owner of Expand IT, a tech consulting company based in San Francisco. He started his tech career in 2005 in San Jose as a System/Network Engineer, before working his way up in various IT consultant roles and starting his own business in 2010.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Momeni was charged in 2011 with a misdemeanor. He was accused of selling a switchblade knife and driving with a suspended license. The tech executive pleaded no contest to both charges and was told to destroy the knife.

People close to Momeni told Forbes that he and his mother left Iran after the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Family friends described Momeni as a “successful entrepreneur” and called him “Dracula” due to regularly seeing him working late hours. Meanwhile, others who know the tech executive didn’t see him as a violent person.

Momeni’s arrest was made on early Thursday morning around 5am. Dates for a court hearing have not been made public.
