An Oklahoma couple were charged with 6 counts of felony child neglect, including child sex abuse of their 11-year-old. But the situation somehow got even worse when DNA revealed that the stepfather of the 11-year-old reportedly got her pregnant.
The original charge against Dustin Walker, 34, and Cherie Walker, 33, was felony child neglect after their 11-year-old gave birth to a full-term infant on Aug. 16. The couple initially claimed that they simply could not tell the child was pregnant the entire time. Furthermore, they claimed their child was never sick during the pregnancy, so they never went to the hospital — which would have revealed she was pregnant.
NBC broke an update from the developing case, reporting that DNA tests showed the 11-year-old’s child was a 99.9% match with her stepfather, Dustin. Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson released a statement saying, “This is one of the most, if not the most, serious child sexual abuse and neglect cases I have ever prosecuted.”
Dustin Walker is now being accused of also sexually abusing the girl, resulting in her pregnancy. Cherie, on the other hand, is being accused of enabling child sex abuse in their shared home. This news comes hot on the heels of another similar case in Virginia where two educators were charged with attempting to manufacture child pornography, and these cases breaking so close together has understandably caused widespread concern. It also adds to another case in Virginia where children have reportedly been going missing, raising even greater concern about children’s welfare overall.
Dustin and Cherie share another 5 children, the youngest being just 2 years old and the oldest 11. The Muskogee County District Attorney’s office has filed additional charges based on the living conditions of these children, calling the state of their home “deplorable.” The couple is being charged with child neglect for all their children, and specifically for their 11-year-old, they’re also facing charges of medical neglect and inadequate child supervision for letting their child give birth at home and allowing her entire pregnancy to go without proper medical checkups.
Just this week another story broke in Florida, where a father was on the other side of an attempt at child abuse when he confronted a grown man stalking his teenage daughter. Online, people wanted the Walkers punished severely for not being more like the Florida dad. On X, one user said the couple deserves the most severe punishment that the courts can conjure up.

The bond for the Walkers was set at $100,000 each. Their 11-year-old child was homeschooled during her pregnancy, which may explain why so few people outside their family knew what was happening inside the Walker home.
Stories like this, wrestling with the dark details of what people are doing behind closed doors, have understandably created a deep debate online. The grandmother of the 11-year-old told reporters that her grandchild had initially said a 12-year-old friend got her pregnant after they got “curious.” But now DNA confirms that wasn’t true. The grandmother, however, stressed that she also had no idea her grandchild was pregnant.
